Steve Leung Takes Office as First Chinese President of IFI

On November 12, 2017, Steve Leung, the founder of SLD subordinated to Jiangho Group, attended the 28th International Member Congress of the International Federation of Interior Designers/Architects (IFI) in Nigeria, and formally took the post of president with a tenure from 2017 to 2019. He became the first Chinese president of IFI since its establishment IFI 54 years ago, which indicated the recognition of Chinese interior design by the industry.

The representatives of industry associations from nearly 20 countries and regions participated in the event. They deliberated and implemented the work report and budget, learned of the future congress plan and development, determined the theme of the World Interior Day, and completed the election of the next council of IFI. In the congress, the list of the members of the current council was announced, including Steve Leung, the first Chinese president who had been internationally respected and recognized. Liang said: "IFI does not belong to any one, any country and any region. As the new president, I promise to do my best and work with other members to make IFI truly represent the authority of the global interior design industry.”

Since he served as the incoming president of IFI from 2015 to 2017, Liang has been committed to establishing a more united, transparent and sustainable international organization. He expects to make use of his 30 years of experience in the industry to contribute to society, unite the strengths of the public welfare organizations of various associations and industries, and work with representatives of various countries and regions to develop the international design industry, focus on and make difference in the world, and improve the living environment and promote the development of various countries through design. Liang and other members of the new council will actively involve more people in the global industry and attract government authorities, education institutions, relevant enterprises and more interior design associations, to increase and diversify the membership, build a more comprehensive and representative international exchange platform and enhance the status of the interior construction and design industry in the world.
