Opening Ceremony for Jangho Architecture Building of Northeastern University was

June 19th, the opening ceremony for Jangho Architecture Building of Northeastern University (NEU) was held at Hunnan campus of NEU. The distinguished graduate Liu Zaiwang, chairman of Jangho Group Company Ltd., coupled with his wife Fu Haixia and the leaders of the university attended the ceremony.

With cheerful music and the witness of the students, Liu and school secretary Sun jointly unveiled the nameplate of the new brand building.

Liu addressed the ceremony. He introduced the development history of Jangho Group, telling how Jangho has become the leader of the curtain wall industry. He hopes that the students in Jangho Architecture College of NEU could become master in the field of architecture, just like Ieoh Ming Pei and Zaha Hadid. He believes that the most attractive and grand buildings in future must be designed or built by the person who graduated from Jangho Architecture College of NEU.

Liu told the students present that there are two representative figures for NEU, Zhang Xueliang and Liang Sicheng, both of whom made an outstanding contribution to NEU. He called on the students to learn from Liang, and was planning to change the name of Jangho Architecture College to Liang Sicheng Architecture College in hope to encourage the students to inherit Liang’s talent, creating more masterpieces of building.

Liu added that Jangho Architecture College possesses solid foundation and sound momentum, it is being at the initial stage though. It is known to all that the architecture department of NEU is the first one of China founded by Liang Sicheng at the invitation of Zhang Xueliang. But later, it was moved from NEU, and as a result, the development of architecture was slow. Now, the situation is different, the dean Xiu is a distinguished professor we invited from top university, and increasing excellent scholars and professors are coming to Jangho Architecture College, helping build a first class college.

At last, Liu hoped that everyone should make his or her contribution to make Jangho Architecture College better and stronger. The inspiring words encouraged the teachers and students a lot, winning enthusiastic applause repeatedly.

The secretary of the party committee of NEU, Sun Jiaxue also made an address. He expressed his delight for the opening ceremony of the building and his gratitude for Liu’s presence. He gave a brief introduction of the scholarship and faculty fellowship of NEU subsidized by Liu Zaiwang, which is of very important to the development of NEU. The behavior and personality charm of Liu wins Sun’s admiration a lot. Sun encouraged students to learn from Liu, to work hard, to make good plan for life to strive for the rejuvenation of China.

After the ceremony, Liu and other teachers visited the Jangho Architecture Building and attended the thanks-teacher ceremony of the students of 2016.

Jangho Architecture Building of NEU was aided financially by couple Liu Zaiwang, prepared in 2012, set up in July of 2013, finished in 2016, which is built not only provide a new way for the integration of enterprise, universitiy and research institute, but establish solid foundation for the talent cultivation and scientific research; therefore, the Jangho Architecture College must can have a bright future with the support Jangho group and the NEU.
